Our Story

    Janet and Sam met in the summer of 2004 in The Lamrim Chenmo (菩提道次第广论) class in Bliss & Wisdom Foundation, (Northern California Branch (北加福智)). Janet was the classlead in the class and often found Sam quite sleepy in the Sunday afternoon. The class was eventually merged with another class, and Janet moved on to other volunteering areas. They remained good friends, and would occasionally discuss music, movie, and Buddhist philosophy online.

    Several years after, Janet returned to Sam's advanced class and became Sam's classlead, again.

    Suggested by a mutual friend (Thanks, Erinna!), Sam asked Janet out on Chinese Near Year Day, 2010. This time, there is an instant connection. Because of their six-year long friendship and strong Buddhist belief, they hit if off quickly. After the first date, they began to see each other frequently. The couple spent most of their spare time together studying Buddhism or hiking in the nature.

    Sam proposed to Janet in June, 2010. With their parents' blessing, their wedding is on the way in November, 2010.

    One may be swept off by someone's love, someone's romance. To Janet, she is swept off by Sam's humor, his friendship, and more importantly, their commitment to learn and grow in life together.

    So, as we are excited about the future of our lives together, we remain thankful for your support and friendship through the years. We look forward to having you here on our wedding day!
